Union Exposed Part 2

Just a few weeks ago I joined the Facebook group Parents and Teachers Against the Common Core (P-TACC) they are a group in action and I'm Proud to be a part of the group.

I have been collaborating with two other P-TACC group members they are activist Moms Jeanine C. and Dina P. Together we have compiled facts and evidence by combing through several documents trying to connect the dots between why and how The Teachers Union  NYSUT- AFT -NEA  sold out their members.

These are some of the facts we have uncovered:
According to the Constitution and Bylaws of NYSUT effective 2012-2013, NYSUT may also be publicly identified as NYSUT NEA-AFT.

Additionally, NYSUT NEA-AFT are partners with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Pearson.

Following the money:

November 2009, Bill &Melinda Gates Foundation commits $335 million to promote effective teaching and raise student achievement. Important partners in this effort are the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA) and their affiliates in the participating communities. “These districts, working with their unions and parents, were willing to think out of the box, and were awarded millions of dollars to create transparent, fair, and sustainable teacher effectiveness models,” said Randi Weingarten, President of the AFT. “These grants will go far in providing resources to help raise student achievement and improve teacher effectiveness

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded NYSUT- NEA-AFT $12,741,257   over the past four years to create teacher effectiveness and accountability systems.

The NEA is a founding member of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills. The Partnership for 21st Century Skills chaired by NEA Executive Director John Wilson. Executive Board member, Kathy Hurley of Pearson Education Foundation. The range of business partners are Time Warner, Ford, and Microsoft owned by Bill Gates.

The full Union Story is on the P-TACC website www.P-tacc.org//p/education-reform-exposed.html

Almost 2 months ago I made a post about changing the Why to the HOW. The one question I was not able to let go of was WHY  the teachers union would bail on their own members by not fighting against a teachers’ evaluation system that determines if a teacher is effective or ineffective based on student test scores? I found my answer.

  1. You should also investigate Randi Weingarten's relationship with the Broad Foundation.

"Who is Eli Broad and why does he want to destroy public education?"
